Location: Ashoka University campus at Rajiv Gandhi Education City, Sonipat, in the Delhi NCR

About Office of Research and Development: The Office of Research and Development at Ashoka University provides centralized assistance to Ashoka faculty and researchers towards academic research. This is done through a set of proactive, capacity-building strategies to increase the University’s competitive advantage and international prominence. The office has four major operation areas – extramural grant management, research infrastructure management, research scholars’ management, and research communication.

Role and Responsibilities:

  • Assist in managing the day-to-day operations and budgets within RDO.
  • Collaborate with Finance to ensure efficient budget management, including reimbursements, bills, and other financial documentation.
  • Work closely with Admin to coordinate events and conferences, ensuring prompt bill payments and managing financial aspects tied to Axis Bank funding.
  • Conduct monthly reconciliations with Finance to ensure accuracy of financial data.
  • Assist in grant management for research projects — monitor expenditures, prepare statements and reports for sponsors, and maintain the research database.
  • Update sanction orders, release letters, expenses, online purchases, ERP entries, POs, and invoices on SFACTS, Google Drive, and Google Sheets.
  • Reconcile grant-related data with Finance and maintain accurate budget details on SFACTS.
  • Review and verify manpower records under extramural grants before salary disbursements.
  • Handle correspondence with departments and external agencies as required.
  • Compile conference/event details for the university newsletter (Ashoka Reflections).
  • Dispatch official documents to funding agencies, ensuring timely delivery and tracking.
  • Organize and systematically file invoices for easy retrieval and accurate documentation.
  • Prepare periodic financial and event-related reports (including for Axis Bank Conferences).

Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in a relevant field.
  • 2–5 years of experience in research administration, finance, or project management.

Skills Required:

  • Strong project and time management skills.
  • Excellent communication and computer proficiency (Excel, Google Suite, ERP/finance software).
  • Knowledge of financial reconciliation and grant management processes.
  • Ability to work flexibly and adapt to dynamic requirements.
