We’re Hiring Again: Downstream Processing Scientist (5+ yrs) – StrainX Biotech | Bengaluru
StrainX Biotech is building precision-fermentation platforms to create next-gen sustainable products. We’re looking for an experienced Downstream Processing (DSP) Scientist to help us with purification process development and scale-up for recombinant products.

What You’ll Do
Develop & optimize DSP workflows (filtration, TFF, chromatography, precipitation, drying).
1. Conduct DOE-based studies to drive yield, purity, and cost efficiency.
2. Lead scale-up from bench → pilot; prepare tech-transfer documents & SOPs.
3. Work closely with analytical teams on HCP, purity, SEC/RP-HPLC, LC-MS, endotoxin, microbial tests.
4. Mentor junior team members and ensure strong documentation/data integrity.
5. Support regulatory readiness for FSSAI/EFSA/FDA expectations.

What We’re Looking For
– M.Sc./M.Tech/PhD in Biotech/Bioprocess/Biochemistry.
– 5+ years industry experience in DSP for recombinant proteins or enzymes.
– Hands-on expertise in TFF, depth filtration, IEX/HIC/GF/affinity chromatography.
– Proven experience in process development, scale-up & tech-transfer.
– Bonus: Precision fermentation experience (Pichia/yeast/fungi), experience of working with statistical tools (JMP/Minitab).
