Are you passionate about applying computational science to accelerate the future of mRNA vaccines and therapeutics? Our Data & Computational Science team in the mRNA Center of Excellence, led by Vikram Agarwal, is looking for an enthusiastic RNA Bioinformatics Co-Op to join us in Summer-Fall 2026!
In this role, youâll work at the intersection of cheminformatics, bioinformatics, computational biology, and machine learning – helping develop first-in-class digital and computational solutions that support the design and optimization of lipid nanoparticles and RNA molecules for next-generation vaccines.
đŹ What Youâll Work On
– Collaborate with experts to advance computational strategies for best-in-class mRNA vaccines and therapeutics
– Build data and computational pipelines integrating chemical, structural, and biological datasets
– Work with NGS data, in vitro/in vivo mRNA screening assays, and design/QC of pDNA and mRNA constructs
– Develop high-quality visualizations and analytics to support scientific decision-making
– Create well-engineered, documented, and reusable codebases
– Stay current with scientific and technological trends and apply them to ongoing research
đ Who Weâre Looking For
– Masterâs or PhD students in Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, Computer Science, or related quantitative fields
– Strong understanding of NGS assays and hands-on experience with NGS data analysis
– Proficiency in R, Python, or related visualization and bioinformatics tools (Bioconductor, Biopython, etc.)
– Able to relocate to Waltham, MA and work full-time (40 hrs/week) for the entire co-op term
â Bonus Skills
– Experience with machine learning (ML/DL)
– Familiarity with cloud or parallel computing
– Strong communication, collaboration, and adaptability
– Ability to train teammates on tools and systems
