Job Description:
The incumbent will work closely within a small Communications & Engagement team, to develop content to promote visibility of the organization to diverse audiences.
It is well suited to individuals who are structured, detail-oriented, and interested in building long-term expertise in communications. A combination of attention to detail, consistency, time management, the ability to handle large workloads and delivery under strict deadlines is an important requirement for this role. Individuals must be able to work collaboratively within teams.
The responsibilities include:
- Working closely to enhance the visibility and impact of the organisation and ensure that communication and engagement efforts align with organizational goals.
- Develop material to communicate key outcomes of IA supported efforts using both written and visual mediums.
- Contribute to the management of website content, social media platforms and evaluating outcomes and impact.
- Contribute to the generation of consolidated reports for funders and periodic reports.
- Ensuring that all communication materials are accurate, well-written, and conform to institutional branding guidelines.
- Document and prepare reports on activities, using photo, video, text, and other multimedia.
- Assist with the organisation of IA events / meetings
Staff are expected to uphold high standards of quality and consistency, and maintain a clear understanding of the mandate and strategic goals of the DBT/Wellcome Trust India Alliance.
Requirements
Essential
- Bachelor’s Degree preferably in the Life Science/Biological Sciences/similar areas.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Desirable:
- Degree in Communications or Post Graduate Diploma in Journalism
- Experience in engagement with beneficiaries, media, and stakeholders.
- Prior experience in communications, preferably in a public, charitable, or educational institution of repute.
- Familiarity with web-based management systems in a professional context; including social media and website content management.
Duration
- The appointment will be in accordance with DBT/Wellcome Trust India Alliance rules and regulations. The position carries a fixed-term contract of up to five years from the date of joining, or until 1 April 2031, whichever is earlier, and includes a probation period as determined during selection, which will be by an interview. Ongoing appointment within the five-year term is dependent on satisfactory outcomes of annual performance reviews.
Salary
- The consolidated monthly remuneration is ₹55,000–₹75,000 per month. Offers will be made within this band based on assessment at the time of selection. Medical and Accident Insurance is provided as an added benefit.
Joining Date
- Once notified, selected candidates should be prepared to join within four weeks.
