Job Description

An Upstream Field Applications Scientist to technically support the upstream product lines in the bioprocess industry. This individual will use their knowledge of cell culture, perfusion, process development, and manufacturing to support customers and our sales team in pre- and post- sales opportunities.

This FAS will drive opportunities by providing technical expertise in Upstream technologies which includes Xcell ATF,TFDF and also bioprocessing PAT applications: real-time monitoring and control of critical bioprocess parameter platforms MAVERICK and MAVEN, at-line cell culture media analyzer REBEL, and high-resolution sample separations device ZipChip, used in the characterization of product quality attributes.

The FAS will work closely with Repligen colleagues including sales account managers, product management, quality assurance, marketing, and R&D scientists/engineers to ensure our products continue to serve the evolving needs of our customers in the bioprocessing industry.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Work in coordination with the Repligen sales team and product management to provide pre- and post-sales support to customers for the Xcell ATF, TFDF, and Process analytical technology product lines.
  • This will include but not limited to, responding to customer requests for technical support.
  • Giving technical seminars, performing product demonstrations and trials
  • Supporting “design In” of Repligen Technologies
  • Support technical scale up conversations, providing on-site/in-lab support, troubleshooting, and assisting with the execution of voice of customer surveys.
  • Understand and Map customers Upstream processes and provide technical advice on Repligen product fit for purpose.
  • Use Salesforce.com to document technical conversations as process projects and effectively follow up.
  • Own demo equipment and ensure availability for demos and Trials.
  • Own the Technical qualification of a customer opportunity by showing enthusiasm to engage technically and provide solutions of value to customers using Repligen Technologies

QUALIFICATIONS

Education, Training & Experience

  • A Bachelor’s degree or higher in a scientific (biology/biochemistry) or engineering (chemical) field.
  • 6+ years’ experience working in a downstream purification discipline in a development or manufacturing setting in the bioprocessing industry.
  • Relevant experience in the development of chromatography unit operations. Working knowledge of scale-up/scale-down, tech transfer and cGMP requirements
  • Knowledge and experience in upstream cell culture is a plus.
