Molecular Biology/ Microbiology Lab Technologist with a Valid DHA/DOH License

Job Description:
We are seeking a highly skilled and DHA/DOH licensed Molecular Biology/ Microbiology Lab Technologist to join our team. The ideal candidate will perform advanced molecular biology testing, contributing to diagnostics in a state-of-the-art laboratory.
This position requires expertise in molecular diagnostics, strict adherence to quality standards, and the ability to work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform molecular laboratory tests, including but not limited to PCR, qPCR, NGS, Sanger and MLPA.
Process, extract, and purify nucleic acids from a variety of biological samples.
Analyze data and prepare detailed reports with precision and clarity.
Ensure compliance with Standard laboratory operating protocols and maintain high-quality standards.
Maintain, calibrate, and troubleshoot laboratory equipment.
Participate in internal and external quality control programs.
Assist in developing and validating new molecular assays and methodologies.
Demonstrate in-depth knowledge of basic laboratory procedures and maintain a clean, organized workspace always.
Assist the Clinical Laboratory Manager and Supervisors in distributing proficiency samples, performing analysis, and reporting testing results.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor’s degree in molecular biology, Microbiology, Biotechnology, or a related field.
Licensure: Valid DHA/DOH professional license as a Molecular Biology/ Microbiology Technologist or Medical Laboratory Technologist, preferably with ASCP-MB certification.
Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience in a molecular biology laboratory, preferably in a clinical laboratory setting.
Technical Skills:
Expertise in molecular techniques such as PCR, qPCR, POCT, Sanger, and NGS.
Familiarity with bioinformatics tools and genetic databases.
Soft Skills:
Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
Preferred Qualifications:
Certification from recognized organizations (e.g., ASCP or equivalent).
Knowledge of laboratory information management systems (LIMS).
Experience in quality assurance and laboratory accreditation processes.
