Position Title: Research Assistant (PhD)

•Education Qualification: PhD in Life Science/Biotechnology/Molecular Biology and Genetics

•Responsibilities:

We are looking for an enthusiastic, well-trained researcher who has an extensive background in molecular biology/genomics to lead and support multiple projects, write grants and publish/peer-review high-quality scientific publications in the appropriate scientific venue.

More specifically, the successful candidate will:

* Design and develop molecular Biology and Genomics research projects.
* Conduct and supervise the following laboratory techniques:

* DNA Sequencing with the Sanger Method
* Development of NGS Libraries and data analysis with the bioinformatics departments.

* Interpret research results and provide final research data to complete the study.
* Assist in writing and submission of grant proposals to both national and international funding agencies.
* Participate in authoring/editing manuscripts and submitting for publication in the appropriate peer-reviewed journal.
* Maintain all data documentation in accordance with institutional policy and practice guidelines and be responsible for ensuring compliance with the appropriate ethical and regulatory standards.

•Required Skills and Experience:

* Proven ability to demonstrate a solid understanding of the various molecular biology techniques associated with research.
* Experience in performing and managing laboratories performing both applications of DNA Sequencing (Sanger sequencing and NGS workflows).
* Proven ability to author and/or contribute to scientific writing with published research articles and technical reports.
* Proven success in preparing grant proposals for funding from federal, state and local agencies.

•Desired Requirements:

* Have previously received research grants as a PI or Co-I.
* Have experience working on projects related to translational research, applied genomics and/or diagnostics.
