Job Description

Calling applications for INTERNSHIPS (PROJECTS or DISSERTATIONS), preferably those for 6 months or longer duration, from students/recent graduates from the domains of life sciences (including bioinformatics), programming, and chemistry. Dr. Kshitish K Acharya is a Professor  at IBAB (www.ibab.ac.in) and a scientific advisor to  ‘Shodhaka Life Sciences Pvt. Ltd.’ (www.shodhaka.net), as well as the founder of BdataA (a non-profit virtual group). He  intends to work with young and enthusiastic students/recent graduates in three types of projects, starting between December 2025 and January 2026 (in rare cases, a later start date may be considered): 

1. In silico or data analysis work that do NOT require programming skills. These projects have limited openings in IBAB with only offline working only. Hostel seats may or may not be available. But there are more openings for work-from-home mode of projects being offered at  via ‘Shodhaka Life Sciences Pvt. Ltd.’ or at BdataA , which collaborate with his team at IBAB. Multiple positions for each of the following types of projects: 

  3a. Exploring molecular mechanism of cell division and cancer via biocuration, and analysis of molecular interactions. 

  3b. Systematic comparative analysis of bioinformatic resources, selection and investigation of mechanism of gene expression regulation.

2. Developing new features and updating existing bioinformatic software/databases and analysis via programming/AIML. These projects have limited openings in IBAB with only offline working only. Hostel seats may or may not be available. But there are more openings for work-from-home mode of projects being offered at  via ‘Shodhaka Life Sciences Pvt. Ltd.’ or at BdataA , which collaborate with his team at IBAB. Independent programming skills are required in Python /Java (html and SQL knowledge/skills, & AI/ML experience are also helpful) to work in these projects.

3. Designing methods to explore nanoparticles for RNA stability and transdermal translocation. This project, with limited seats is open only for people who studied chemistry at bachelors and masters level.

Neither the intern is charged for the project, nor there is any stipend. Necessary training is provided free of cost or at nominal cost*.

For those selected for online or work-from-home projects, there will be multiple rounds of online (or in-person if you wish) orientations, meetings, and discussions with the professor or his team members. 

Weekly progress reviews will also be conducted. 

Only hard working and sincere students, who are eager to learn and contribute, should apply. 

[Note: Certificates shall always be issued from the respective organizations only; do not expect a certificate from another organization for doing a project in the other!] 

*Training fees may be applicable for project work to be taken up at Shodhaka Life Sciences Pvt. Ltd. But there is NO  ‘project charge’ in any case.
