Job Description
New KFAS 3 Years Postdoctoral Fellowship in the Lashuel Lab at WCM–Qatar: I am delighted to announce the launch of a new three-year Postdoctoral Fellowship offered by the Kuwait Foundation for the Advancement of Sciences (KFAS) to support the advanced training of Early Career Researchers from Kuwait in my laboratory at Weill Cornell Medicine–Qatar. This fellowship reflects KFAS’s commitment to empowering national talent and strengthening the culture of scientific research and innovation in Kuwait. We are deeply grateful to KFAS and its leadership Ameenah Farhan for their confidence in our lab and for championing pioneering, forward-looking approaches to building scientific capacity across the region.
The fellowship is designed to equip researchers with the skills needed to launch successful independent careers in academia or industry, including scientific leadership, project management, and innovation-driven problem solving.
The selected fellows will work at the cutting edge of neuroscience and chemical biology, receiving hands-on training, mentorship, and exposure to advanced research technologies and multidisciplinary projects at the forefront of chemical biology and translational neuroscience in the lashuel and collaborting research laboratories in top universities in Europe and the US.
Importantly, this initiative marks a significant step in strengthening regional collaboration and building scientific capacity across the Gulf. By supporting Kuwaiti researchers to train in Qatar, we aim to contribute to a broader regional effort to develop the next generation of scientific leaders capable of driving impactful research in neurodegeneration and beyond.
Training the next generation of research group leaders—in Qatar and across the region—is a core mission of the Lashuel Lab over the next 10–15 years.
I encourage motivated Early Career Researchers from Kuwait who are passionate about neuroscience, protein chemistry, and translational discovery, and who aspire to launch their own independent research careers, to apply.
