Job Overview

Job Description

Organ Mechanobiology Lab at NCBS, Bangalore is recruiting!
We are looking for passionate and motivated PhD candidates interested in exploring a research career at the interface of cell biology, developmental biology, and tissue mechanics. If you hold a CSIR, DBT, or ICMR fellowship, we’d love to hear from you.

Our lab uses C. elegans as a model to study how mechanical forces and biochemical signals guide organ morphogenesis and function. We employ interdisciplinary approaches, including tissue-specific genetic manipulations, CRISPR-based knock-in/out techniques, quantitative live imaging, transcriptomics, and biophysical methods such as laser ablations, optogenetics, and microfluidics for high-throughput, long-term imaging. For more details visit our website.

Ideal candidate profile:
•Prior experience in a research lab (especially with C. elegans, imaging, or cell biology, quantitative imageanalysis) is a plus, but not required
•We are looking for students who are curious, committed, and excited about learning

Why join us:
As a new lab, we are building from the ground up – that means more room to learn, contribute ideas, and help shape our culture.
• Weekly lab meetings and one-on-one mentorship
• A vibrant and collaborative research community at NCBS
