Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled research scientist with deep experience in mouse models of autoimmune and inflammatory diseases. The ideal candidate must have extensive hands-on experience in developing, executing, and interpreting preclinical models of arthritis and inflammatory skin diseases. The candidate will contribute to the advancement of our immunology drug discovery programs. This role will be part-time or consulting and require occasional visits to our Wilmington laboratories in Delaware to help plan and execute in vivo efficacy studies.

Key Responsibilities:

Design and advise on in vivo studies using established mouse models of autoimmunity and inflammation with a focus on arthritis and dermatologic diseases.

Collect, document and analyze primary data associated with the development of each disease model and the effect of therapeutic intervention.

Interpret pharmacodynamic and efficacy data, with expertise in clinical scoring, disease biomarkers and histopathologic readouts.

Ensure compliance with animal welfare regulations and IACUC guidelines.

Qualifications:

  • M.S. or Ph.D. in Pharmacology, Immunology, or a related field. Experience in biotech/pharma is preferred
  • Demonstrated hands-on experience in mouse models of autoimmune and inflammatory diseases (at least 5 years)
  • Proficient in arthritis (e.g., CIA, CAIA) and skin disease (e.g. dermatitis, psoriasis) model development and analysis
  • Ability to critically analyze data and clearly communicate findings
  • Strong understanding of in vivo pharmacology principles and immunopathology
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment

Preferred:

  • Experience with small molecule compound testing in preclinical autoimmune models
