Job Description
Position: Scientist I, Manufacturing Sciences
Location: Sunnyvale, CA (onsite)
Schedule: Monday – Friday, 1st Shift
The Scientist I, Manufacturing Sciences, will be responsible for the synthesis of functionalized resins used in columns.
What you will do:
- Use manufacturing protocols to accurately synthesize and characterize raw and functionalized resins for column production for HPLC
- Address and report problems in daily manufacturing and propose effective countermeasures
- Communicate effectively with other production staff regarding delays, issues in production, etc
- Interact efficiently in a cross functional setting between several departments; R&D, column production, product management,
- Collaborate in multiple initiatives to improve overall quality and yields of various synthesized resins
- Participate in 5S, TPM, and Safety initiatives to develop a successful team.
How will you get here?
Education, Experience
- Requires a Bachelor’s degree or higher in Chemistry.
- 0+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment
- Direct experience with polymer chemistry and analytical chemistry preferred
- Experience with chromatography software and H/UPLC preferred
- Experience with generating and following quality control documents or procedures in compliance with quality standard ISO9001.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
- Ability to perform routine analysis on size distribution and surface area of resins
- High level of understanding of manufacturing environments and standard chemistry techniques and principles
- Ability to interpret chromatograms from HPLC/UPLC, GC-MS.
- Familiarity working with standard software programs such as Microsoft Word, Excel and Power Point.
- Familiarity with chromatography systems, experience in analytical chemistry a plus

Compensation and BenefitsThe hourly pay range estimated for this position based in California is $27.91–$41.86.
