Our Global Biomarker Platforms (GBP) Team is seeking an experienced and driven Discovery Biomarker Scientist to lead the design, development, and validation of biomarker strategies that advance our R&D and diagnostic pipeline.
In this hands-on role, you will:

Key Responsibilities:
- Apply knowledge of molecular biology, biochemistry, and immunology methods in the design and execution of experiments to advance identification and validation of biomarkers.
- Lead and perform wet lab experiments for the development and validation of robust biomarker assays using molecular technologies and platforms.
- Analyze data and present findings clearly to stakeholders, promoting transparency, high scientific ethical standards and continuous improvement.
- Maintain accurate laboratory records reflecting our commitment to responsibility and doing the right thing for the right reason.
- Lead and mentor a team of scientists.
- Collaborate on project design, strategy and execution.
- Collaborate effectively with external and internal partners ensuring development of appropriate assay formats addressing the specific question at hand, always doing the right thing for the right reason(s).
- Foster and live a culture of open communication and speak up, effectively sharing and evolving methodology, technology, and product ideas.
- Support multiple biomarker discovery, technology discovery and product development projects while contributing proactively to a collaborative and respectful work environment.
Educational Qualifications:
- Ph.D. (2-4 years of relevant experience), M.S. (6+ years of relevant experience), or BS (with 8+ years of relevant experience) in Molecular Biology, Microbiology, Biochemistry, Immunology, or other related fields are preferred.
Technical Qualifications:
- Proficiency in various molecular assays and technologies (ddPCR, RT-qPCR, sequencing, CRISPR, etc.)
- Demonstrated success in effectively leading and mentoring a team of scientists. This includes skills in resolving conflicts and maintaining a positive team environment, and the capability to provide guidance and support to team members, fostering their professional growth.
- Collaborative team player with a strong attention to detail and a proven track record in working both independently and as a team member to deliver high-quality results.
- Experience strategizing, overseeing, planning and executing projects.
- Experience in troubleshooting methods and various assay formats.
- Experience with discovery methods, e.g., molecular and immunology-based detection methods.
- Proficient in translating research findings into products using advanced molecular techniques.
- Experience with biostatistics, bioinformatics, computational biology, etc. is preferred but not required.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to design, interpret, and present complex scientific data in a team environment is required.
- Highly self-motivated and adaptable scientist with strong problem-solving abilities and a positive, enthusiastic approach to challenges.
- Previous experience in the field of renal diseases and/or oncology is highly desirable.
The following base pay range reflects the anticipated base pay for this position if a selected candidate were to be located in [Colorado]. Base pay may vary based on location and other factors.
Base Pay Range: $102,000 – $153,000
