Applications open for our six-week computational oncology summer training 2026 (May 18 – June 26; due: Feb 15, 2026).

This 6-week summer training program (May 18 – June 26, 2026) is open to undergraduate students across disciplines and institutes all over India who are interested in learning the fundamentals of how mathematical and computational approaches can help understand cancer progression and eventually develop new therapeutic strategies. Application deadline: February 15, 2026; 11:59pm IST

At the conclusion of the training program, the trainees are expected to achieve the following:
▪ A solid grasp of fundamentals in dynamical systems biology, cancer biology, and computational biology.
▪ An exposure to interdisciplinary approaches at intersection of mathematics and many biological systems (cell & molecular biology, oncology etc.)
▪ An opportunity to contribute to long-term research projects at cutting-edge areas in mathematical oncology

We expect the following from the students selected for this program:
▪ Attend and actively engage in the entire 6-week program
▪ A short (2-3 page) report by the student (in last week of program) detailing your activities during the training program, any relevant new data that you generated, what you have learned, and any feedback you may have for us.
(A certificate of completion shall be provided to you on successful completion of the program and submitting the mentioned report.)

Please note the following:

  1. Kindly bring your own laptop to work and participate in training. Shared seating spaces will be provided.
  2. We work in cancer systems biology domain, which includes both mechanism-based mathematical models and bioinformatics/data analysis components. Both of them shall be a part of the training.
  3. If you are interested in engaging with us for a long-term research project opportunity, please get in touch at the end of the program. Completing the training program is a mandatory prerequisite to engaging in a long-term research project in CSB lab.
