Job Description

Prof. Pramod Pullarkat at Raman Research Institute, Bengaluru, is looking for interested students with M.Sc or B.Tech to work on experiments and modelling of some biophysical systems.

Expertise in Computer Simulations to work on projects related to interaction of lipid membranes with active particles (prior experience in computer simulation preferred) in the Soft Condensed Matter Group (PI: Prof. Pramod Pullarkat, collaboration with Prof. P B Sunil Kumar, IIT-Madras, Chennai).

The maximum duration of the position is for 2 years and the extension to the second year will be based on a satisfactory evaluation. We seek motivated individuals with good academic background along with an aptitude to research and a strong background in Statistical Physics.
The details of the required qualification and experience are given below:
Job Description: RA will be responsible for (i) performing coarse grained computer simulations and analytical calculations on non-equilibrium dynamics of membrane in the presence of swimming microorganisms.
Remuneration: A consolidated remuneration of Rs. 31,000/- plus HRA as applicable month will be paid to the selected candidates.
Essential Qualification: M.Sc. in Physics or B.Tech/M.Tech with a strong background in Physics. Candidates with research experience from reputed labs will be preferred (please include email address of lab PI(s) with application). Ability to work in a team, an interest in multidisciplinary research and quantitative data analysis skills are necessary. Candidate should be self-driven, motivated and have leadership skills.
