Job Description
The position is offered for a period of 3 years, if no former times of qualification must be considered. The starting date is January 1st, 2026. The position is part-time (65 % of regular working hours) with salary and benefits commensurate with a public service position in the state Hesse, Germany (TV-H E 13, 65 %).
Tasks:
- scientific services in research
- design, cloning and validation of optical G protein biosensors for use in living cells
- planing, performing, analyzing and interpreting pharmacological experiments based on novel optical biosensors in living cells in microtiter plates
- investigation of G protein-coupled receptor (GPCR)-dependent conformational changes in heterotrimeric G proteins
- investigation of GPCR-dependent interaction profiles of dissociated G protein subunits
- investigation of G protein-mediated, GPCR specific signal transduction
The position is limited to a time period deemed adequate for the completion of a doctoral degree. As part of the assigned duties, there will be ample opportunity to conduct the independent scientific research necessary for the completion of a doctorate. The limitation complies to § 2, 1 WissZeitVG.
Profile:
- MSc-degree or equivalent in a biological / biochemical, life science or pharmaceutical specialisation
- practical experience in the cultivation of adherent-growing mammalian cells (e.g. HEK-293)
- practical experience in molecular biological working methods for cloning plasmid DNA (PCR, Gibson assembly, restriction ligation)
- practical experience in biochemical and/or cell biological methods in microtiter plate format (96- or 384-well plates)
- experience in fluorescence and/or bioluminescence-based methods including FRET and BRET
- good command of written and spoken English
Disposition to own scientific qualification (e.g. a doctorate project in the area of pharmacology) is expected.
