Hirundo Biosciences – a wholly owned subsidiary of Gedeon Richter Plc. – is looking
for an In vivo Pharmacology Lead (m/f) to join its Discovery Research platform,
based in Liège, Belgium.
This position requires extensive experience in animal model development,
translational pharmacology and CRO management and is a unique opportunity for
the successful candidate to play a key role in the pharmacological characterization
of new drug candidates in the field of women’s health. The In vivo Pharmacology
Lead will report to the Head of Translational Science.

Key Responsibilities
- Establish in vivo pharmacology strategy for drug discovery projects to support
identification of lead and clinical candidates. - Set up new collaborations with state-of-the-art researchers and CROs to
establish new relevant disease models. - Design, plan and coordinate outsourced in vivo animal pharmacology studies
to characterize and assess the therapeutic potential of drug molecules in
diverse indications within women’s health. - Analyze and interpret experimental data, author protocols and reports as
required and present data. - Act as in vivo subject matter expert and represent in vivo pharmacology and at
cross-functional project team meetings and at external meetings with partners
and stakeholders. - Identify relevant in vivo models and methodologies to translate the in vitro
biology/mode of action into in vivo efficacy studies. - Lead research efforts for in vivo PK/PD and mechanism of action studies to
support target validation, candidate selection and biomarker research
discovery. - Define new academic research programs and identify adequate academic
partner laboratories in line with the goals of the company and the key scientific
objectives for the research. Provide oversight of research activities. - Write research grant proposals and participate in external scientific
communications.
Profile - PhD degree in Pharmacology, Biomedical Sciences or related discipline.
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in in vivo pharmacology in biotech/pharma
settings. - Proven hands-on experience in preclinical efficacy studies, PK/PD studies,
animal model development and CRO management. - Ability to organize, critically analyze, interpret results and come forward with
recommendations. - Demonstrated ability to lead multiple projects and to prioritize activities to
challenging deliverables. - Creative, able to bring new ideas and ability to innovate.
