Our laboratory focuses on the development of clinically relevant, bioengineered Vascularized Islet Organs for
advanced cell replacement therapies in Type 1 Diabetes. The project integrates organ bioengineering, tissue
immunology, and translational medicine.
To achieve this goal, we use a variety of methodologies among organ engineering, bioreactor assembly and
testing, CAD scaffold design and 3D in vitro modeling, in vitro molecular and functional assays, confocal

- in vivo preclinical work, mouse handling, drug administration, and preclinical surgical-activity.
- flow citometry
- excellent English communication skills.
- 2) Postdoctoral research fellow (PhD, MD, or MD/PhD in biomedical sciences) to be involved in the
bioengineered side of the project with a direct focus on the ex vivo validation and in vivo testing. Preferred
Skil/s: - experiences in developmental biology or bioengineering
- 3D scaffold design and in vitro modelling (fusion 360, COMSOL)
- in vivo preclinical work, mouse handling, drug administration, and preclinical surgical activity.
- Excellent English communication skills.
The positions require outstanding motivation and commitment to conduct translational diabetes research.
Salary: Salary will be based on experience.
Duration: Based on position and funding, with the possibility of extension
