Established in 1987, with the vision, ‘to create excellent and equitable eye care systems that reach all those in need,’ the L V Prasad Eye Institute (LVPEI), a comprehensive eye health facility, is a World Health Organization Collaborating Centre for the Prevention of Blindness.

LVPEI’s five-tier ‘Eye Health Pyramid’ model, covering all areas of the community right from the villages to the city, provides high quality preventive, curative, and rehabilitative eye care to all. Through its five-tier ‘Eye Health Pyramid’ and cross-subsidy models, LVPEI provides more than 50% of its services entirely at no cost to the patient, irrespective of the complexity of care needed. The LVPEI Eye Care Network has over 310 centres across the Indian states of Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, Odisha, and Ballari, Karnataka. The Institute offers expertise through its ten functional arms – Clinical Services, Education, Research, Vision Rehabilitation, Rural and Community Eye Health, Eye Banking, Advocacy, Policy and Planning, Capacity Building, Technology Innovation, and Product Development.

Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site role for a Content Writer/Creator based in Hyderabad. This role will report to and assist the Content Manager. Key responsibilities include

• Developing content ideas for social media, website, newsletters, and offline campaigns.
• Writing clear, compelling, and ethically responsible copy for diverse platforms (newsletter, news updates, social posts, informational and educational brochures) along with the Content Manager.
• Creating short video content (reels, explainers) and collaborate with clinical/design/video teams for production.
• Curating and repurposing content for different formats and audiences.
• Performing social monitoring and listening to track trends, conversations, and audience sentiment.
• Ensuring brand voice consistency and upholding sensitivity in tone, language, and representation.

Qualifications

• 1–4 years of experience in content creation, writing, or digital marketing.
• Strong copywriting and storytelling skills, with an interest in science communication.
• Internet-savvy with knowledge of social media trends.
• Ability to create engaging short-form content.
• Strong research and editing skills.
• Keen attention to detail and ability to deliver quality content within deadlines
• Passion for non-profit communication and social impact.
• Commitment to ethical and inclusive communication practices.
• A degree in English, Communications, Journalism, or related fields is ideal.

Nice-to-have:

• Experience with WordPress, Notion, and Canva.
• Basic understanding of SEO, analytics and content optimization.
• Experience with community engagement or advocacy campaigns.
• Knowledge of accessibility and inclusive communication practices.
• Familiarity with basic video editing tools (InShot, Meta Edits, Premiere Rush, etc.)
