Postdoctoral Researcher/Research Associate – Oligopeptide, 1 FTE, School of Biological and Chemical Sciences, 011561
Applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates for a 2-year, full-time, fixed term position as a Postdoctoral Researcher/Research Associate in an interdisciplinary research programme at the interface of chemical biology, organic chemistry and microbiology in the laboratory of Dr Merve Suzan Zeden in the Infectious Disease Section of the  School of Biological and Chemical Sciences, College of Science and Engineering, Institute for Health Discovery and Innovation at the University of Galway, Ireland. This position is funded by Research Ireland and is available from 1st March 2026 for a duration of 2 years. The successful candidate will join a dynamic and collaborative research environment focused on the synthesis, purification and testing of small-molecules to manipulate the antimicrobial resistance of bacterial pathogens. This position offers opportunities to contribute to the research ongoing in the Zeden laboratory, development of research tools and methodologies, publish in high-impact journals, and engage in interdisciplinary collaborations. Salary: Postdoctoral Researcher salary scale €46,305 – €59,063 per annum, (subject to the project’s funding limitations), and pro rata for shorter and/or part-time contracts.  The default position for all new public sector appointments is the 1st point of the salary scale.
