Job ID: CYC-1004
Who We Are
Cycuria Therapeutics is a preclinical-stage oncology biotech pioneering novel protein-based targeted
therapies against hematological cancers and beyond. Our mission is to develop first-in-class therapies that
selectively eliminate cancer cells while preserving healthy physiology. Based in the thriving Medical
Science City Graz ecosystem, we collaborate closely with leading academic, clinical and service partners to
advance our mission. Join our growing team of highly motivated and competent colleagues on the journey
to develop transformative cancer therapies that have a lasting impact on patients’ lives.
Your Tasks and Responsibilities
You will play a key role in advancing our preclinical pharmacology strategy and supporting the
development of Cycuria’s novel protein-based therapeutics. You will report directly to the Head of
Research and work closely with cross-functional teams to generate mechanistic insights and translational
data that guide our drug development programs. Your responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
 Lead the design, development and implementation of cell-based pharmacology assays to evaluate the
biological activity and mechanism of action of our novel protein-based therapeutics on primary and
cultured human and murine tumor cells.
 Plan, design and execute in vivo pharmacological evaluation of our drug candidates in relevant murine
tumor models in coordination with qualified CROs.
 Perform functional characterization of primary hematopoietic and immune cells, including activation
and effector function, using multi-color flow cytometry, ELISA, fluorescence- or bioluminescence-
based assays as well as other advanced immunological techniques to support preclinical pharmacology,
biomarker and translational research.
 Collaborate cross-functionally with biology, biomarker and translation teams (internally as well as at
CROs) to integrate pharmacology data into broader research and translational strategies.
 Lead and mentor an empowered team of young, dedicated research associates.
 Contribute to scientific reports, publications, grant applications and regulatory documentation.
Who You Are
 You are a passionate scientist with a PhD in immunology, pharmacology, biology or related fields, with
at least 5 years of postdoctoral research experience, including 2+ years in an industry setting, ideally in
drug discovery or preclinical development.
 You have extensive hands-on experience in designing, optimizing and executing primary cell-based
pharmacology assays evaluating target or drug’s impact on tumor and immune biology via state-of-
the-art methodologies, such as high-dimensional flow cytometry, 3D tissue cultures, scRNA-seq etc.
 Experience in leading early-stage drug discovery projects and managing external partners
(CROs/academic) is a plus.
 You are a highly motivated, flexible and creative individual, with excellent communication and
interpersonal skills, who is effective at working in a diverse, fast-paced and cross-functional team.
