Job Description
We’re hiring 1-2 postdocs!
Our group has open postdoctoral positions to dissect circuit organization and circuit function — focusing on circuits and neuron subtypes that drive motivated behavior and decision-making — and circuit dysfunction in stress and mood disorders.
What you can work on:
→ Targeting genetically-defined neuron subtypes in the basal ganglia, hypothalamus, and lateral habenula
→ In vivo imaging, electrophysiology (Neuropixels), and optogenetics
→ Sophisticated behavioral paradigms — both freely moving and head-fixed
→ Built on a foundation of single-cell RNA-seq and monosynaptic rabies tracing that resolve circuits and neuron subtypes
What we offer:
→ State-of-the-art infrastructure at Biomedicum
→ A deeply collaborative and internationally-connected lab
→ Real investment in your career development
Who we’re looking for:
→ PhD (2025 and 2026) with at least one first-author paper
→ Strong background in circuit/systems neuroscience
→ Quantitative, statistical, and programming skills
→ Determination to understand how brains generate complex behaviors
