Job Description
Hi! Join the PACMAN project — we are recruiting two PhD candidates!
Within the “PACMAN – Personalized antibody-drug conjugates activated by matrix metalloproteinases for solid tumors” project, we are looking for two motivated MSc graduates interested in pursuing a PhD in the field of next-generation antibody–drug conjugates (ADCs) for hard-to-treat solid tumors.
🥼 PACMAN is a large interdisciplinary research initiative in medical biotechnology and translational oncology, focused on developing personalized ADCs activated by matrix metalloproteinases (MMPs) in the tumor microenvironment. The project aims to advance new therapeutic and diagnostic strategies for aggressive solid tumors.
🧪 PhD-1: Synthesis of antibody–drug conjugates (ADCs)
We are looking for an MSc graduate with experience in: peptide chemistry — synthesis, purification and characterization or ADC synthesis
Main tasks will include the synthesis of antibody–drug conjugates with different types of linkers, as well as characterization of their purity and structure.
Supervisor: Marcin Poreba
🧫 PhD-2: Cellular studies of ADCs
We are looking for an MSc graduate with experience in: working with primary human cells, especially PBMCs and neutrophils and cell culture and cell line models
Main tasks will include studying neutrophil heterogeneity in relation to protease activity using substrate probes, as well as analyzing the effects of ADC conjugates on neutrophil function and survival.
Supervisor: Paulina Kasperkiewicz
🎓 We offer:
• a PhD scholarship from the Doctoral School of Wrocław University of Science and Technology (Wrocław, Poland)
• an additional full-time employment contract within the PACMAN project for the entire PhD period
• work in an interdisciplinary research environment combining chemistry, biology, medical biotechnology and translational oncology
• participation in a large research project carried out within the Virtual Research Institute and coordinated by Łukasiewicz – PORT
📩 Applications:
Please send your CV and a short motivation letter by 25 May 2026.
