Ostafe Lab is hiring four postdoctoral researchers to join my research group in the Department of Biological Sciences at Purdue University in West Lafayette, Indiana. Position 1 – Nanoparticle Formulation and Microfluidic Production Developing lipid- and polymer-based drug-delivery systems using microfluidic production, formulation optimization, drug loading, and physicochemical characterization. Position 2 – Oral Delivery and Epithelial Transport Studying oral delivery, intestinal epithelial uptake, barrier integrity, and transport using mammalian cell culture, Transwell models, TEER, microscopy, and flow cytometry. Position 3 – Targeted Drug Release and Antimicrobial Testing Developing infection-relevant drug-release assays and evaluating antimicrobial activity using bacterial culture, MIC/MBC, time-kill, biofilm, hypoxia, and related models. Position 4 – Microbiome and Translational Assays Evaluating microbiome-sparing antimicrobial delivery using microbial community models, anaerobic culture, molecular assays, and metagenomic or resistome workflows. Who should apply: ✔️ PhD in microbiology, cell or molecular biology, pharmaceutical sciences, biomedical or chemical engineering, materials science, chemistry, nanotechnology, or a related field ✔️ Relevant experience in one of the four research areas described above ✔️ Strong quantitative, organizational, and experimental troubleshooting skills ✔️ Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a multidisciplinary research team Direct experience with every method listed—or with our specific delivery platform—is not required.
