Job Description

I’m building a new lab at IIT Bombay and I’m hiring my first postdoc to help build it. Biofilms are commonly used for wastewater treatment, but they are challenged by environmental stresses such as salinity. My lab studies how microbial communities in biofilms build resilience to environmental stress – and we do it by exploring the physical structure of the biofilm and its microbial community. This is highly relevant in the context of saline wastewater and desalination brine. I’m looking for a candidate with a strong background and practical lab skills in one or more of biotechnology, bioprocess engineering, bioinformatics/omics, and soft-matter analysis (FTIR/NMR).
