As a member of Indian Society of Cell Biology (ISCB), I am glad to share that a Call for Applications for Summer Internship Fellowship – 2026 is now open.
The Indian Society of Cell Biology (ISCB) announces its Summer Internship Fellowship for deserving undergraduate (four-year programs) and postgraduate (two-year programs) students. The fellowship provides an opportunity to gain hands-on research experience in the broad domain of cell biology during the summer vacation (June–July).

The primary aim of this program is to encourage students to pursue doctoral studies in cell biology after completing their current academic programs.

Fellowship Benefits:

· Duration: 2 months (June–August 2026)

· Stipend: ₹5,000 per month (maximum of 2 months)

· Certificate of Fellowship from ISCB on successful completion of the internship

Eligibility:

Applicants must be currently enrolled in:

· A four-year undergraduate program (e.g., B.Sc., B.Tech., MBBS, BVSc, B.Pharm, etc.)

[OR]

A two-year postgraduate program (M.Sc./M.S. in Life Sciences, Biotechnology, Medicine, or allied areas)

[OR]

Five or four integrated UG-PG program (Life science or allied area)

Undergraduate students should have completed at least 3 years of study.

Master’s students should have completed at least 1 year of study.

Integrated program (UG-PG) students should have completed or entered the final year.

Applicants must secure an acceptance letter from a faculty member or scientist (an ISCB member) affiliated with a reputable university or research organisation.

Applicants should not be receiving any other financial support for the summer internship.

Academic details and transcripts

Reference letter from a teacher who taught the applicant

Acceptance and support letter from the prospective host faculty/scientist

Statement of Purpose (SOP) for the internship

Important Dates

· Deadline for submission of applications: May 25, 2026

· Announcement of awardees: June 1, 2026

· Internship duration: June – August 2026 [flexible starting date, but the internship should be for 60 days].
