We have great opportunities for Co-Ops and Internships in the Upstream (Cell Culture) Development Group at J&J in Malvern PA:

1. ambr250 Reduced Scale Model Development – looking primarily for PhD students with strong background in modeling. Great for students who are interested in bioreactor modeling, cell culture, statistics, and multivariate data analysis.

2. Cell Culture Process Development Co-Op – 3 different projects, one of them involves exploring biochemical metabolic pathways to increase productivity in CHO cells in the production of therapeutic antibodies. Experiments include doing media development based on the consumption of amino acid and other metabolites. The Co-Op student will carry out cell culture and bioreactor experiments and contribute to statistical data analysis in support of a larger strategic initiative. This can be for BS, MS or PHD students.

3. Cell Culture Media Development Intern – 3-month internship. The Co-Op project is to better understand cell culture media stability and comparing performance of small- and large-scale media preparations, including experiments in production bioreactors.
