I am seeking a highly motivated PhD candidate with a strong background in Biological sciences, Molecular Biology, Life Sciences to join research group at SRM Medical College Hospital and Research Centre, SRM Institute of Science and Technology, Kattankulathur, Chennai, Tamil Nadu.

🔬 Research Focus: Our lab investigates the molecular and genetic mechanisms underlying sex bias in neurodegenerative diseases using the model organism Caenorhabditis elegans. We integrate functional genomics, transcriptomics, molecular genetics, and clinical data to understand how sex-specific gene expression and neuronal circuitry shape differences in disease susceptibility, progression, and outcomes.
By combining genetic manipulation, behavioral assays, bioinformatic analyses, and human sample studies, we aim to identify key molecular regulators and conserved pathways driving sexually dimorphic responses in disorders such as Alzheimer’s, Parkinson’s, and autism spectrum disorders. Our long-term goal is to discover sex-specific biomarkers and therapeutic targets, advancing personalized strategies for understanding and treating neurodegenerative and neurodevelopmental diseases.
