Job Description

PhD studentship available!!

We have a fully funded PhD studentship available as part of the MRC DiMeN DTP program: https://www.dimen.org.uk/applications

The project aims to investigate approaches to develop metabolic adjuvants to modulate immune responses in both the cholangiocarcinoma tumour microenvironment and cell therapies, to ensure continued activity and a more “welcoming” environment once they have reached the tumour.

You will be based primarily in my group, investigating how manipulation of immune cell bioenergetics and metabolism affects their function. Time spent in the labs of cosupervisors Dr Laura Randle and Prof. chris goldring will provide training in cutting edge precision cut liver slice models and cancer therapeutics.

The studentship will also provide experience in industrial co-supervisor facilites. Experience in the translational aspects of new therapeutics will be provided by Dr Sean Hammond at ApconiX, and Dr Sherin Pojar at BioGrad developing experience in the GMP production of cell therapies.

Details of how to apply are here: https://lnkd.in/ekb4nKuM

Applications will open on the 30th October (until then the site may say “…may not be available”), but get in touch if you have any questions.

Please do repost if you know someone who may be interested!
