Job Description
Now hiring: 3 postdoctoral fellows (salary $97,000-$114,000) in AI, MD and cryo-EM at Los Alamos National Laboratory
I’m opening three postdoc positions in the Theoretical Biology & Biophysics Group at LANL, all centered on large-scale computation and biomolecular structure:
1. Deep Learning & RNA / Structural Biology
Development of neural network pipelines for RNA and complex biomolecular systems, with access to leading HPC resources and a strong structural biology context.
2. Large-Scale Biomolecular Simulations (HPC / Coarse-Grain MD)
Design and deployment of coarse-grained and multiscale simulations of large assemblies (RNA–protein complexes, ribosomes, molecular machines) on LANL supercomputers.
3. Experimental Cryo-EM at the Interface of Structural Biology & AI
Hands-on cryo-EM from sample prep through data collection and reconstruction, in close collaboration with modeling and AI teams.
All roles are based on site in northern New Mexico, in a highly interdisciplinary environment that combines AI, structural biology, biophysics, computation, and national-scale supercomputing.
These positions are particularly well suited to candidates who are eligible to work at a U.S. national laboratory and interested in projects with both fundamental and national-mission impact. Full details, including formal eligibility requirements, are in the official postings.
