Job Overview

Job Description

We are hiring a postdoctoral researcher to join our team at the University of Michigan (https://lnkd.in/gnjdpPpA).

Our work focuses on how physical and biological features of cellular microenvironments, together with nanoscale extracellular signals, regulate tissue regeneration. We aim to build quantitative, mechanistic frameworks linking engineered microenvironments to cellular behavior and tissue function.

This position combines experimental and computational approaches across mechanobiology, biomaterials, microfluidics, advanced imaging, and data science. We are especially interested in candidates with strong engineering or quantitative backgrounds who want to tackle complex biological problems and drive projects from hypothesis to insight.

We place a strong emphasis on rigor, reproducibility, and clear scientific thinking, and we provide mentorship in career development, publishing, and grant writing alongside increasing independence. This role is best suited for candidates who are comfortable working across disciplines in a collaborative environment, building new collaborations, and engaging deeply with data, engineering, and biological mechanisms.

If this direction resonates with you (or someone you know), we would love to hear from you.

Apply here: https://lnkd.in/gGmP9B8Q. Please include a cover letter describing your research vision and how you would contribute to and extend the lab’s work, along with a CV.
