Scientist – Analytical Method Development
StrainX Bio is building next-generation precision fermentation platforms to produce high-value proteins and biomolecules at scale. We are looking for a Scientist – Analytical Method Development to strengthen our analytical capabilities supporting strain engineering, fermentation, and downstream processing.
This is a hands-on role for someone who thrives at the interface of biology, chemistry, and data—driving robust, scalable analytical methods critical to product development.
Key Responsibilities
– Develop, optimize, and validate analytical methods for protein characterization and quantification
– Establish assays for fermentation monitoring (e.g., metabolites, substrates, product titers)
– Design and execute HPLC, UPLC, LC-MS, GC, and spectroscopic methods
Support downstream processing and purification teams with analytical insights
– Perform method validation (accuracy, precision, linearity, robustness, LOD/LOQ)
– Analyze complex datasets and generate actionable insights for R&D teams
– Ensure proper documentation aligned with GLP/GMP-like practices (where applicable)
– Collaborate cross-functionally with strain engineering, fermentation, and process teams
– Troubleshoot analytical challenges and continuously improve workflows
Required Qualifications
– PhD / M.Tech / MSc in Analytical Chemistry, Biochemistry, Biotechnology, or related field
– 2–6 years of relevant experience in analytical method development (industry preferred)
Strong hands-on experience with:
– Chromatographic techniques (HPLC/UPLC)
– Protein analysis methods (SDS-PAGE, Western blot, ELISA)
– Experience with protein/biomolecule characterization from fermentation systems
– Strong data analysis and interpretation skills
What We’re Looking For
– Scientific rigor with a problem-solving mindset
– Ability to work in a fast-paced startup environment
– Strong ownership and execution capability
– Clear communication and cross-team collaboration
