PhD Opportunity for GATE , CSIR, DBT- JRF qualified candidates- Antibacterial Discovery from Lower Eukaryotes @ Microbial Adaptation and Chromatin remodeling Laboratory, Department of Biological Sciences amd Bioengineering, IIT Kanpur

We are looking for a highly motivated student interested in exploring novel antibacterial compounds from lower eukaryotes for his/her PhD degree.
Project Focus:
Discovery of new antimicrobials from fungi and other lower eukaryotes
Understanding biosynthetic pathways and secondary metabolism
Functional validation against drug-resistant bacterial pathogens
Integrating molecular biology, microbiology, and chemical biology approaches
What we’re looking for:
Strong background in microbiology / molecular biology / biotechnology
Interest in antimicrobial resistance (AMR)
Hands-on experience in microbial culture, genetics, or natural product screening (preferred)
Highly driven, curious, and collaborative mindset
