Job Overview

Job Description

Global South Fellowship Programme Fellowship: Biosecurity

The Biosecurity Department has teamed up with CEPI’s Global South Fellowship Programme to advertise an opportunity for a qualified individual to join CEPI (Coalition for Epidemic Preparedness Innovations) for up to one year (fixed term) and support our exciting biosecurity activities in support of the hashtag#100DaysMission, working with (if I say so myself!) an awesome, globally distributed team of Zoe Adler Neil Cherian Andrew Hebbeler, Ph.D. Jane Shallcross and me, and of course many other amazing colleagues across CEPI. The role will offer opportunities to work across CEPI’s Biosecurity Strategy on topics such as biosecurity and #biosafety oversight, strengthening biosecurity and biosafety capacity, and catalysing responsible use of emerging technologies and innovations – all with equity as a core principle. This is a *remote* position – the selected fellow will remain in their home country throughout the duration of the fellowship, with some international travel opportunities anticipated.

One more important point to note: Part of the ethos of the Global South Fellowship Programme is to strengthen institutional partnerships 🤝 – as such, applicants to this position *must* be employed by an institution in one of the eligible countries listed above, and should also submit a letter from this institution, noting approval for the applicant to spend up to a year working with CEPI.
