Job Description

Applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates for a full-time funded PhD scholarship starting September/October 2026 in my group at the University of Galway!

We are looking for a highly motivated, enthusiastic, and ambitious applicant with curiosity and passion for science. Applicants must have completed a BSc (Hons) or equivalent degree in Microbiology, Biochemistry, Genetics and Genomics, Biotechnology, Chemistry or a related discipline. Previous experience in molecular biology or biochemistry, and a strong interest into the topic is desirable. MSc/MRes in Microbiology or a related discipline would be preferable but is not essential.
