Job Description
The Sendoel lab studies the role of translational control in health and disease. Our lab employs a variety of in vivo techniques to investigate stem cell behavior in homeostasis, clonal expansions and tumorigenesis. We are looking for a highly motivated and independent postdoc to join an ERC-funded project aimed at advancing our single-cell ribosome profiling technologies in cancer. For further information about the lab, please visit www.sendoellab.org.
The Institute for Regenerative Medicine (IREM) combines cutting-edge stem cell and bioengineering research to advance regenerative therapies. Based on bio-inspired principles and novel biomimetic technologies, IREM research focuses on the replacement and/or regeneration of dysfunctional human cells, tissues or organs to restore or establish physiological functions. Thematic priorities are translational regenerative technologies, cell-based regeneration and biomimetic tissue replacement, gene and cell therapy, stem cell biology and cancer, and translational neuroregeneration.
Your responsibilities
- Design, execute and lead a research project focused on translational control in cancer
- Drive the development and advance our single-cell ribosome profiling strategies in mouse models of cancer
- Contribute to the development and optimization of new experimental and computational methods within the field of translational control
- Collaborate within an interdisciplinary team and participate in mentoring PhD and Master’s students
Your profile
- Ph.D. in molecular biology, cancer biology or similar domain
- Strong expertise and experience in RNA biology and translational control is required, supported by at least one publication/preprint in the field.
- Experience with single-cell techniques, ribosome profiling and/or mouse models of cancer is a plus
- A high degree of independence and self-motivation is expected
- Strong communications skills, written and oral (English)
