Interview on 17.04.2026 for the positions of one Research Associate-1 (RA-1) in the Department of Chemical
Sciences at IISER Kolkata
Applications are invited for the positions of Research Associate-1 (RA-1, one position) in the Department of
Chemical Sciences (DCS), IISER Kolkata.
Research Associate-I (RA1): One position

1. Research Area: Theoretical and Computational Biophysical Chemistry (Focus: Protein-Nucleic acid
   Interaction)
2. Funding source: DBT
3. Principal Investigator: Dr. Susmita Roy
4. Remuneration: Rs. 58000/- + HRA
5. Tenure: One year (extendable up to 2 years based on the research progress and performance)
6. Basic Eligibility Criteria: PhD in with proven expertise in the area of Computational
   Chemistry/Physics/Biophysics/Biotechnology/Bioinformatics/Bioengineering
7. Desirable qualification:
    Proficiency in Python and shell scripting, with workable knowledge in bioinformatics and experience
   managing large-scale biological datasets using AI/ML frameworks.
    Proven experience applying machine learning algorithms to protein and nucleic acid sequence-structure
   analysis is highly preferred.
    Expertise in Molecular Dynamics (MD) simulations and enhanced sampling techniques (e.g.,
   Metadynamics, Umbrella Sampling, or Replica Exchange)

   **Conditions: No TA/DA will be provided to the candidate for the interview. The decision of the selection
   committee will be final. The selected candidate may be terminated with a 30-day notice before completion of
   tenure, if their performance is deemed unsatisfactory. The requirements of minimum qualification and/or
   experience and age may be relaxed in the case of candidates with outstanding credentials.
