About the Position:
We are seeking a motivated Junior Scientist/Executive to support wet-lab operations in the Genomics laboratory. The role involves performing DNA extraction, quality assessment, and next-generation sequencing (NGS) library preparation for clinical genetic testing workflows including prenatal and postnatal diagnostics.
Key Responsibilities:
● Perform genomic DNA extraction from various clinical samples (blood, CVS, amniotic fluid, POC, saliva, etc.)
● Conduct DNA quality control using spectrophotometry, fluorometry, and gel electrophoresis
● Perform NGS library preparation following validated SOPs
● Maintain accurate laboratory documentation and batch records
● Follow contamination control practices in PCR/NGS workflows
● Assist in sample tracking and laboratory inventory management
● Adhere to laboratory quality standards and regulatory requirements
Support troubleshooting and optimization of wet-lab workflows when required
Required Qualifications:
● MSc / MTech in Genetics, Biotechnology, Molecular Biology, or related life sciences field
● 0–2 years of experience in molecular biology or genomics laboratory
Preferred Skills:
● Hands-on experience in DNA extraction and QC
● Exposure to NGS library preparation workflows
● Knowledge of PCR techniques
● Familiarity with laboratory quality systems (NABL/ISO standards)
● Strong attention to detail and ability to follow SOPs
