🚀 Exciting Scientist Job Opportunity at CDFD, Hyderabad! 🧬

Position: Scientist C (Grade III)
Age Limit: 45 years
Pay Matrix: Level 11
Total Emolument: Approx. Rs. 103881/-

A full-time PhD Scientist position is available at Diagnostics Division laboratory, a full service clinical diagnostic laboratory at the Centre for DNA Fingerprinting and Diagnostics, Hyderabad, an autonomous organization funded by the Department of Biotechnology (DBT), Ministry of Science and Technology, Government of India. The laboratory provides cutting edge genetic and genomics tests especially in the field of mendelian genetics. The position requires the candidate to engage in clinical molecular and cytogenetic diagnostics; therefore, the position is not a research position. The candidate should be efficient at acquiring new technical skills, new knowledge of human genetics and driven to analyse clinical cases running through pipeline in a timely manner. Additionally, the position will require wet lab bench work as well as work related to quality control and laboratory accreditation.

Essential Educational Qualifications and Experience:
First class M.Sc. with 05 years’ experience or First class M.Tech. / MD / MVSc / M.Pharm / M.Biotech with 04 years R & D experience.
OR
Ph.D with 01 year postdoctoral experience in the relevant field

Desirable qualifications
1. Knowledgeable in the fundamentals of molecular biology and human genetics
2. Demonstrated NGS and Array CGH experience
3. Skilful in PCR and Sanger sequencing/Genotyping interpretation
4. Knowledge regarding steps involved in laboratory test quality control and accreditation procedures
5. Rapidly acquire expertise in new techniques
6. Ability to multitask and Good time management skills
7. Ability to work independently and collaboratively
8. Good analytical and problem solving abilities
9. Strong organizational and communication skills

Key Responsibilities:
1. Oversee established clinical molecular and cytogenetics diagnostics assays and standardize new ones as per requirement
2. NGS and Array CGH data analysis and interpretation
3. Manage mutation confirmation work flow (PCR and Sanger sequencing/ Genotyping)
4. Training of students/clinicians in genetic diagnostics
5. Laboratory test quality control and laboratory accreditation
6. Writing draft clinical reports
