Job Overview

Job Description

I am currently hiring for a Senior Principal Scientist for an exciting Biotech Company who needs someone based in Copenhagen and is a Discovery Biology Expert.

Location: Copenhagen, Denmark

Employment Type: Full-time, Permanent

You’ll be joining a diverse and growing team where every role has a real impact, whether it’s in the lab, supporting operations, or driving projects forward. We take our science seriously, combining professionalism with scientific rigor, but we also foster an open, collaborative culture where curiosity is encouraged, ideas are shared freely, and cross-disciplinary work thrives.

In this role, you’ll use your deep expertise in drug discovery to connect disease biology with new therapeutic opportunities. You’ll play a key part in shaping our pipeline by turning biological insights into testable hypotheses, models, and assays that advance our RNA therapeutics programs.

You’ll collaborate closely with colleagues across biology, chemistry, bioinformatics, and external partners to keep programs focused, translational, and moving efficiently toward the clinic. As a trusted scientific partner to the CSO and project leads, you’ll help define the biological rationale that underpins our discovery strategy.

Your responsibilities

As Senior Principal Scientist, Discovery Biology, you will:

  • Link disease biology to molecular mechanisms and therapeutic targets, providing the foundation for RNA drug discovery programs.
  • Drive early discovery projects by designing, executing, and interpreting studies that shape strategic decisions.
  • Champion the use of disease-relevant models, assays, and biomarkers to keep research focused on clinical translation.
  • Evaluate complex datasets, separate signal from noise, and turn findings into clear, actionable strategies.
  • Work collaboratively with internal teams, CROs, and partners to ensure steady, efficient progress toward the clinic.

What we’re looking for

You hold a PhD in molecular biology, neuroscience, genetics, or a related field, with at least 10 years of experience in pharma or biotech drug discovery. You’re motivated by advancing science and making programs succeed.

We imagine you are someone who:

  • Has a strong track record of shaping discovery research through deep biological insight and translational thinking.
  • Knows how to connect disease biology to therapeutic targets and turn this into impactful drug discovery strategies.
  • Brings a practical, decision-driven mindset and understands what’s needed to move projects forward.
  • Communicates clearly and works seamlessly across disciplines and with external partners.
  • Brings experience in RNA therapeutics (a plus, but not essential).
