Seeking graduate-level innovators for a summer internship opportunity with me in Oncology R&D at AstraZeneca!

We’re building the next generation of automated cell imaging workflows—where bench science meets robotics, algorithms, and data-driven decision-making. If you’re excited by translating manual assays into scalable, automated platforms, this role will put you at the forefront of pharmaceutical R&D.

💠 𝘞𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘺𝘰𝘶’𝘭𝘭 𝘥𝘰:

▪️ 𝐀𝐮𝐭𝐨𝐦𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐝 𝐖𝐨𝐫𝐤𝐟𝐥𝐨𝐰 𝐃𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐥𝐨𝐩𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭: Help design, execute, and validate cell imaging assays following SOPs for robotic integration
▪️ 𝐂𝐫𝐨𝐬𝐬-𝐅𝐮𝐧𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐃𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐥𝐨𝐩𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭: Partner with automation engineers and assay scientists to harmonize data and convert manual methods into automated workflows
▪️ 𝐌𝐞𝐭𝐡𝐨𝐝 𝐕𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐝𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧: Apply statistical analysis to demonstrate comparability and enable method release

💠 𝘠𝘰𝘶’𝘭𝘭 𝘵𝘩𝘳𝘪𝘷𝘦 𝘪𝘧 𝘺𝘰𝘶 𝘩𝘢𝘷𝘦:

▪️ 𝐀 𝐒𝐨𝐥𝐢𝐝 𝐅𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐝𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐢𝐧 𝐂𝐞𝐥𝐥 𝐁𝐢𝐨𝐥𝐨𝐠𝐲: experience in cell culture and independently designing/executing 96/384-well cell-based assays
▪️ 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐟𝐢𝐜𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐲 𝐢𝐧 𝐒𝐭𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐥 𝐀𝐧𝐚𝐥𝐲𝐬𝐢𝐬: Proficiency in analyzing assay data for validation (Excel, Prism, etc.)
▪️ 𝐀𝐥𝐠𝐨𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐡𝐦𝐢𝐜 𝐓𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐤𝐢𝐧𝐠: Breaking complex processes into steps suitable for automation

💠 𝘏𝘶𝘨𝘦 𝘱𝘭𝘶𝘴:

▪️ Experience with laboratory automation (e.g., 𝐥𝐢𝐪𝐮𝐢𝐝 𝐡𝐚𝐧𝐝𝐥𝐞𝐫𝐬), and/or 𝐡𝐢𝐠𝐡-𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐢𝐦𝐚𝐠𝐞𝐫𝐬 (Cell Insight or similar)
▪️ Knowledge of 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐠𝐫𝐚𝐦𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐥𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐮𝐚𝐠𝐞 (Python, C++, SQL, etc.)
▪️ Experience 𝐜𝐨𝐥𝐥𝐚𝐛𝐨𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 in a cross-functional setting
