Job Description
We are seeking a MSc student for an Internship/Rotation/MSc thesis opportunity focusing on computational proteomics and machine learning.
The project will be carried out within the research groups of Mikhail Savitski (EMBL Heidelberg) and Julio Saez Rodriguez (EMBL-EBI / UKHD) under my supervision. It will focus on developing predictive models that leverage underused features in proteomics raw data. A key component of the work will be the orthogonal integration of recently developed spectra-to-sequence models to identify biologically relevant variables.
Requirements:
– Background in bioinformatics.
– Intermediate/Advanced programming skills in Python.
– Familiarity with deep learning frameworks (Keras, PyTorch, TensorFlow).
– Prior experience in proteomics is a plus
The placement is flexible but must occur between February and August 2026. Funding is available to cover part of the rotation, with the possibility of a follow-up PhD position in Spain.
