Job Overview

Job Description

Applications for the 2026 California Institute for Regenerative Medicine (CIRM) SPARK Internship program at Sanford Burnham Prebys Science Network (SBP-SN) are now open!!

This is an amazing program for San Diego county high school students (16 yo min) who get to spend ~7 weeks immersed in a lab here at SBP. Students take part in an active research project and gain incredible insights into the transformative potential of stem cell biology. At the end of the program, students present their work at a poster session with all SPARK interns from California. This is my 3rd year overseeing this internship and the students from the past 2 years have been just incredible. Needless to say, this internship experience is a game changer for college applications!

This is a paid internship where students receive a stipend of $3,375 and an iPad to keep even after the internship concludes.

Interested interns should go to the initial application request. If you meet the minimum qualifications, you will then be directed to the main application.
