Job Description
My lab at Washington State University is looking for a postdoc in the field of molecular plant-microbe interactions. We have a USDA grant that will explore whether we can optimize rhizobia bacteria strains to improve environmental stability and tolerance of legume plants in the field. There is a wide diversity of rhizobia in the field, but few studies have explored how to optimize inoculants and plant-microbe interactions to promote nitrogen fixation while limiting crop tolerance to stressors. The postdoc will work in both the greenhouse, laboratory, and field to conduct studies of rhizobia diversity and impacts on legume crop production, as well as molecular work assessing the mechanisms governing these interactions. Based on the conditions of the award, we can only offer the position to a US citizen or permanent resident. If you are interested please email me at dcrowder@wsu.edu
