Applications open to enroll for PUSH-TRANSLATION WORKSHOP - early-stage product development

About the Workshop

The “push-translation” approach bridges the gap between early-stage academic discoveries and their commercial evaluation or licensing. While academic research often yields promising inventions, many fail to progress due to missing translational elements such as pharmacokinetics, toxicity profiling, mechanism of action studies, benchmark comparisons, clinically predictive models, and intellectual property analysis. These skills and perspectives,
though rarely part of academic training, are critical to de-risk an invention in the eyes of investors, funding agencies, and industry partners. This workshop will equip investigators with the know-how, tools, and strategic insights to strengthen the translational value of their work.
Participants will gain a practical roadmap for preparing a complete, investor-ready data package, learn how to identify high-potential inventions and make informed decisions to discontinue non-viable projects, interact directly with seasoned drug development professionals, and engage with real-world case studies. They will also have the opportunity to showcase their own inventions to experts, receive tailored feedback, and explore potential collaborations.
More details about the program can be found here: https://ignitelsf.in/static/pdfs/Push%20Translational%20Workshop%20Announcement.pdf
Full-time faculty and academic investigators from both government and private nonprofit institutions engaged in discovery research are eligible to apply. Preference will be given to investigators who have at least one product with a promising profile in preclinical development. Investigators who have founded start-up companies based on their inventions are also welcome to apply.
As seats for this workshop are limited, we request you to kindly nominate up to TWO participants from your institution who would be a good fit to benefit from and contribute to this program. Selection will be made on a first-come, first-served basis. Travel and accommodation will be covered for selected participants.
