Job Description
We are seeking a Postdoctoral Research Fellow who will work on a CIHR-funded project on the Elimination of Hepatitis B (HBV) in Canada with a team of investigators in Quebec, Ontario, British Columbia. The postdoctoral fellow will use linked administrative datasets to characterize the health burden of HBV and define the steps along the HBV care cascade in different groups at risk including immigrants, pregnant women and intravenous drug users. Advanced epidemiologic methods will be used.
This position provides opportunities for collaborative work with epidemiologists, statisticians, senior scientists and physicians at the LDI, the Institute of Clinical and Evaluative Sciences (ICES) in Ontario, and at the BC Centers for Disease Control in British Columbia. In this role, you won’t just analyze data, you will lead complex, high-impact quantitative research using some of the most comprehensive health datasets in Canada, develop your own independent research agenda, and collaborate with top experts across disciplines to drive evidence into action. You will also have the opportunity and support to design and lead your own research projects aligned with HBV elimination goals, contributing to both science and policy change.
The ideal candidate will have: A PhD, MD/MSc or equivalent in epidemiology, biostatistics or public health; Strong quantitative skills in epidemiology, and experience with statistical software such as SAS, R, and demonstrated ability to design and implement complex analyses; Prior experience with health administrative databases and/or cohort analyses; An excellent academic record and established track record of original publications in peer reviewed journals.
