🌟 About ICMR-NIPCR
The ICMR – National Institute for Pre-Clinical Research (NIPCR) (formerly NARFBR), an autonomous flagship institute under the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR), Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India, is a world-class center of excellence for biomedical and pre-clinical research. As part of our commitment to national pandemic preparedness and advanced medical countermeasure development, we are setting up two state-of-the-art Animal Biosafety Level 3 (ABSL-3) laboratories. These cutting-edge facilities are dedicated to high-containment research on large animal models, including Non-Human Primates (NHPs), Pigs, and Ferrets.

We are seeking a highly technical, and experienced Senior Consultant to steer the team for operationalization, biosafety compliance, and strategic management of these upcoming facilities.

🎯 Key Responsibilities:
📧Facility Operationalization: Oversee the commissioning, validation, and daily workflow management of the two upcoming large-animal ABSL-3 containment facilities.

📧Biosafety & Compliance: Ensure strict enforcement of national and international biosafety, biosecurity, and standard operating procedures (SOPs) for Risk Group 3 pathogens.

📧Engineering & HVAC Management: Coordinate with technical teams to ensure continuous negative pressure, HEPA filtration efficacy, waste decontamination (effluent treatment), and facility integrity.

📧Training & Mentorship: Act as the lead subject matter expert, training scientific and technical staff on containment protocol entry/exit, emergency response, and safe animal handling under containment conditions.

🎓 Desired Qualifications & Experience:
📧Expertise: Deep, hands-on expertise in ABSL-3 operations, facility management, and biosafety protocols.

📧Background: PhD / MVSc / MD / MTech or equivalent advanced degree in Veterinary Sciences, Virology, Microbiology, Biotechnology, Biomedical Engineering, or related disciplines with substantial containment lab experience.

📧Attributes: Strong leadership qualities, detailed understanding of HVAC and BMS for biocontainment, and a proven track record of handling regulatory audits.
