We invite motivated, innovative, and research-driven PhD candidates to join our research group at the School of Healthcare Science and Engineering (SHINE), VIT Vellore, for the January 2027 session. 🔬 Our Research Focus 🧬 Synthetic Biology & CRISPR-Cas – Programmable genetic circuits and genome engineering. 🦠 Microbiome Engineering & Gut–Brain Axis – Engineered probiotics, host–microbe interactions, and living therapeutics. 🤖 AI-Integrated Living Systems Engineering – AI-guided engineering of microbial and mammalian cell factories. 🧪 Cell-Free Synthetic Biology & Diagnostics – Smart biosensors and programmable diagnostic platforms. 🎯 Who Can Apply? Candidates from Biotechnology, Microbiology, Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Bioengineering, Computational Biology, Biomedical Sciences, Pharmaceutical Sciences, and related disciplines are encouraged to apply. Medical and dental graduates (MBBS, MD, MS, BDS, MDS) interested in translational research are also welcome, subject to VIT eligibility criteria.
