Job Description
About the project
Dr Reddy Labs, Humane World for Animals and BRIC-inStem has developed a
document titled “Landscape Analysis on Alternatives to Animal Testing for
Drug Development”. Currently the document is 155 pages (36000 words
including references). The document consists of following 6 chapters: Generics,
New Chemical Entities/ New Biological Entities, Cell and gene therapies, Non-
Animal Methodologies (NAMs) for Drug testing, Cross sectoral tests: Pyrogen
testing. In addition, there is an Executive summary and Introduction sections. The
document covers the status quo of innovative, in vitro technologies that can
replace animal testing in these sectors.
The project requires a science editor who can significantly edit the document from
the current stage to nearly 40-50 pages. Some of the chapters (Generics, Cell and
gene therapy, and Pyrogen testing) are already concise; but the chapters on Non-
Animal Methodologies (NAMs) for Drug testing, New Chemical Entities/ New
Biological Entities, Introduction, and Executive Summary would require
significant editing.
Timeline
The timelines are a bit tight and would require a turnaround time of 3-4 weeks. But
the editing can be done in a staggered manner where the chapters that are edited
first could be submitted to the team.
Pay
The science editor can provide the quotation for the document on per word basis
or entire document to the contact person and the payment would be done by Dr
Reddy Labs. The payment could be done in two instalments where the mutually
agreed upon % of the total payment could be done during initiation of the project
and the rest of the payment is provided upon project completion.
Specific considerations
The content of the document is technical so it would be helpful if the interested
science editor can show some level of experience in editing such documents.
