Job Description
I am looking for a motivated MSc student interested in bioprocess engineering, downstream processing, and advanced proteomics.
The thesis will focus on unraveling the process proteome of a NIST mAb CHO production process using novel high-sensitivity proteomics workflows. The project will combine hands-on wet lab work in downstream processing with mass spectrometry-based analysis and data evaluation. The supernatant was produced by Larissa Hofer from Nicole Borth’s group.
The work is part of an international collaboration with Peter Hoffmann of University of Adelaide, and a research visit to Adelaide may be possible as part of the thesis.
This project is particularly suitable for students who are interested in:
• downstream processing of monoclonal antibodies
• host cell proteins and process-related impurities
• sample preparation for high-sensitivity proteomics
• mass spectrometry-based bioprocess analytics
• international research collaboration
Previous experience in protein purification, chromatography, mass spectrometry, or data analysis is helpful, but motivation, curiosity, and careful wet lab work are most important.
Interested students are welcome to contact me with a short CV and a few sentences about their motivation.
Please feel free to share with suitable candidates.
